How to Participate in Yarn Saver’s Drop-Off Service at Indie Untangled 2025

We’re delighted to be at Indie Untangled 2025, offering fiber artists a convenient and sustainable way to declutter their yarn stash right at the event! Here’s everything you need to know about our drop-off and assessment process at the Welcome Barn.

To be eligible to drop off items at the Welcome Barn at Indie Untangled, regardless of using same-day service or not, everyone must create an online account at yarnsaver.com. Anyone without an online account will be asked to exit the registration line and create one through their mobile phone before re-entering the line.

Special Event Same-Day Service

We are offering a same-day payout express service for attendees who meet three requirements with their assessment. Yes, this means while you are at Indie Untangled, we are going to process your items right then and there! You will receive email (or text, if opted in) notifications about the status of your same-day assessment.

To participate in the Same-Day Service option, follow these steps and you’ll be on your way!

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Submit an Assessment: Submit details of the items you intend to drop off through our online assessment system.
    • For same-day service, you must create a new assessment and list your items through the system.
    • For drop off only, you can list your items or request a manual review.
  • Indicate Your Participation: Upon assessment approval, when asked how you are providing your items to us, indicate that you will bring your items to Indie Untangled 2025. Select either same-day or drop-off.

Step 2: Prepare for Same-Day Service

To qualify for our exclusive same-day payout service at Indie Untangled, ensure:

  • You bring no more than one large reusable shopping bag (maximum dimensions: 10″ depth, 16″ tall, 18″ wide).
  • Only one approved assessment per customer is permitted.
  • You have received and bring your assessment barcode (sent by email after approval).

Requirements are strictly enforced.

Step 3: At the Event

Go to the Welcome Barn: We are right next to the registration area. Look for the “Reg.” section on the official event map.

Left Side “SAME-DAY ONLY” – Pre-Registered Same-Day Only: Pre-registered customers utilizing same-day service with barcodes can enter the expedited line for swift processing.

Right Side “ALL OTHER DROP OFFS” – All Other Drop Offs – pre-registered, manual reviews, or otherwise: Present your barcode for scanning and hand over your prepared bag of fiber arts items.

Step 4: Assessment Completion and Checkout

  • You’ll receive email (and optional text) notifications as your assessment progresses. You can check in with the checkout table at any point to check on the status of your assessment if you are unable to use your mobile device, as mobile signal will be spotty and free internet is not available.
  • Once your assessment is marked as “Assessed”, return to the Welcome Barn for checkout.
  • Enter the line on the right-side of the barn labeled “CHECKOUT”.
  • Same-day service participants have the option to either accept the payout or have their items returned to them. It is an all or nothing choice: you either accept a payout for all items, or we return all of your items to you.
  • If the attendee agrees to a payout, they must confirm their preferred payout method as well as the method to send the payout, either receiving check or cash during checkout, or an email address for a PayPal transfer or store credit.
  • Available payout methods are as follows:
    • Check or Cash (subject to availability): 20% of the batch’s total value
    • PayPal transfer: 25% of the batch’s total value
    • Store credit: 30% of the batch’s total value

Drop-Off Only (Not Using Same-Day Service)

  • Items that don’t meet same-day criteria (too large, multiple assessments, not pre-registered) are welcome but will be processed after the event at our Connecticut offices. Regular terms and conditions apply, and items cannot be returned once dropped off.
  • There is no limit to the number of items, bags, etc. with drop off only assessments.
  • Attendees not using Same-Day Service will queue in front of the right-side of the Welcome Barn. This applies to drop off only service as well as manual reviews, those creating accounts/registering their assessment that day, etc.
